The Front Row, presented by Hobson Chevrolet of Cairo, features two of Tallahassee's most trusted and connected FSU sports voices: Tom Block and Keith Jones. Get to know a little more about Tom and Keith in their bios below, or for the latest episodes of The Front Row, click here.

Tom Block

Tom Block freelances extensively with the Seminole IMG Sports Network, serving as the pregame host, sideline and locker room reporter for all Florida State football games, and also hosts Jimbo Fisher’s weekly TV show. In addition to his responsibilities with IMG, Tom also calls play-by-play for ESPN, the ACC, and other networks for various sports including men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, softball, tennis, and track and field.  When not moonlighting as a sportscaster, Tom serves as the campaign manager for the FSU Office of University Advancement as FSU conducts the most ambitious fundraising campaign in university history.  Raise the Torch: The Campaign for Florida State will raise one billion dollars by June 30, 2018.

Born and raised in South Florida, Tom attended South Plantation High School and began honing his sportscasting skills at an early age, hosting the weekly football coach’s show on local cable access. Also in high school he worked at what was then called Joe Robbie Stadium--the 1st year it opened--just to see all the Dolphin games in person.  After leaving Plantation, Block attended Florida State University and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor Degree in communications, earning a Master’s Degree in Sport Management in 2005. During his professional career, Block has worked in various capacities in sports media and has become a seasoned veteran on the Florida sports scene having covered Florida sports his entire career. In the early 1990s, Block restored sports talk radio to the airwaves in Tallahassee. After that, it was on to WTXL--the ABC affiliate--for five years, including three as sports director. While at WTXL, Block was voted most popular sportscaster three times and won an Associated Press award for Best Sports.  In 1998, Block joined Florida News Channel to begin providing statewide sportscasts. That grew to a role as host of Sun Sports nightly “Sportscenter” style program, entitled Nextel Florida Sports News, in the early 2000’s.

These days Tom resides in Tallahassee with his wife Laura, daughter Reagan, and son Nolan.
